I mostly work in colored pencil or graphite or pens. I've done some ceramic work too. And I enjoy landscaping around my house. I like trying different styles. I usually get caught up in details, with controlled little movements of the pencil. But sometimes I have a more free style. I love hiking, exploring new places. The basalt columns of the Columbia River Gorge can be seen in some of my work. I'm fascinated by contorted alpine trees. I don't look at a photo or a scene while working. I draw from an image I have in my mind. Even tho I don't draw directly from nature, the shapes and textures and feelings that I get from the land inspire my hand. The images I post are here because I want to share them. Anyone who wants to may print out a copy for themselves. If they do, I ask in return that they adopt a similar policy, or write a piece of shareware, or make a like contribution to the world in some way, or pay me directly - whatever you think a printout is worth. In any case, if you like a drawing, please let me know - it will encourage me to do more and post more. But, do not mass-reproduce or distribute them. If you think you can make money with them, contact me and we can work out details. If you want to use them in another piece of art you must ask and get permission first. And if you really like them, most of the originals are for sale. I'll put prices on some of them in the gallery. Please write to me to ask about ones I haven't posted prices for. I also take commissions.
