NAME: Vanya GENDER: Female RACE: Valk'Alaii SPECIES: Special - Lapine/Rodent Blend AGE: 22 standard years HEIGHT: 5'7" (1.7m) WEIGHT: Apx. 130 lbs. MEASUREMENTS: B-34C x W-22 x H-38 BACKGROUND: Up until about half a year ago, Vanya was heralded as one of the top five warriors of the entire Valk'Alaii people, and as the finest fighter in the capitol of Valk'Heroj. She endured many difficult battles over that time, earning for herself a life of luxury. However, all that came to an abrupt end one day during a nonmortal contest with a rival warrior. In that battle, she and the warrior were engaged in unarmed combat when her opponent, planning to rather permanently remove Vanya from competition, attempted to poison Vanya with a concealed dagger. Vanya noticed his attempt and turned the dagger on her opponent instead, stabbing him and killing him nearly immediately. As a result, Vanya was exiled from the whole of the Valk'Alaii kingdom, forced to travel as a vagabond throughout the land, eventually stumbling upon the realms of Furcadia, where she has decided to try to make a living for herself as a freelance soldier, specializing as a bodyguard. An accomplished fighter and a student of the ancient All Weapons Art, Vanya can defend herself with nearly any weapon, and even when unarmed, with little difficulty. However, despite her skills, she prefers to use her unique and rather impressive sword, the four-foot-long "Demon's Bane". The Demon's Bane, although it weighs around seventy standard pounds, can be carried and used by Vanya in a similar matter to a much smaller sword(like a standard long sword), through the magical enchantments placed on the weapon. These same enchantments also limit the sword to her ownership, as anyone else who uses the sword will almost immediately recieve a powerful jolt capable of stopping a heart with little difficulty. Vanya's sword is one of the only two pieces of her past she chooses to retain to this day. The other, logically, is her custom gold-plated light plate armor, which provides her with coverage where she needs it(chest, hips, arms, legs), but not where she doesn't. This strange(although definitely more attractive) design allows her to move much more freely than she would wearing even standard leather armor. As a result, she has always been known as a nimble fighter, quick on her feet and able to dodge faster than most people could. When she was younger, she was noted for her natural intelligence and charisma, and as her career was taking off, she was presented with several different suitors who tried to woo her unsuccessfully. Vanya never saw taking a mate as a big concern to her, perhaps because she did not believe her own mortality, but more likely because her somewhat tomboyish nature clashed with the attitudes of her male peers, who she regarded as "filthy pigs" and "unworthy of the attentions of even the lowliest strumpet". This attitude still shows, but seems to have lessened as of late.
