**Something about the word Ane-ue (meaning a respected term for a sister) or perhaps listening to the song ‘Shine’ continuously for the past 3 hours made me kinda want to cry while writing this. Not because of the story itself of course, because I could never write anything that may evoke an emotion in anyone with the exception of perhaps boredom. Anything anime related holds the power to make me cry during an emotional scene.. not in public of course ^_^! Too many of course’s… Feel free to flame. “ I don’t understand what you’re saying.” A bead of sweat trickled down the side of his face. His hand placing down various photos on to the desk. Images depicting gruesome scenes of blood shed, police investigation photographs of dead bodies, mutilated as their remains stain the image’s floor. Beside these photographs a folder lay open, blurred images with only shades of darkness to allow differentiation’s within it, and the hint of a bulging figure within these photos.
	“No one said you had to understand.” The cool voice replied, the face hidden among the shadows.
	“Now look here!” The sound of a chair falling hit the floor, as the man slammed his hand down upon the sturdy solid oak of the desk. “I’m in charge of the Ministry of Public Safety. I demand to know what’s going on in this city, and if any of the public are in danger!”
	“You have been informed of the situation. You’re presence is no longer needed here.” The voice was monotone, cold, and direct. The figure stood up and moved towards the door of the office.
	“Wait!” The man grabbed the others arm, pulling the young female into the light. “What are you releasing? I… I don’t want anymore deaths…” The man’s grip tightened as memories recollected into his mind.
	Her face looked down at the man, the memories causing him pain, emotionless, no pity showed for him. “I’m sorry for the unfortunate loss of your wife, but these things happen.”
	“Don’t talk about her as if it’s just another meaningless thing in your life!” He fell to his knees, sobbing as his grip finally let go. “How would you know, what it’s like to lose a loved one.”
	Her eyes paused momentarily, then, silently, she walked away from the man, closing the door behind her, leaving him in darkness.
	“Ane-ue?” A small inquiring voice quietly spoke.
	“Eh?” The girl looked down, surprised. “Sabaki, what are you doing here? Is everything alright?” She crouched down to the boy, her face showing concern.
	“Uh…ah.. yeah.” The boy looked down, ashamed.
	She smiled, pushing on her knees as she stood back up. She straightened her emerald dress that flowed along her tight form, a dragon curled along the fabric, its scaled surface wrapping around hers in its stitched pattern. 
	“It’s okay to be scared sometimes.” The boy continued to look down in silence. She smiled to herself. “Let’s go.” She held the boy’s hand, and in silence they walked down the white washed halls.

	A dulled black-blue covered the midnight air, clouds hanging low over the rotting buildings. Ropes stretched above the streets, on some pieces filth-ridden clothes hung, their purpose to dry no longer valid. Garbage was scattered across the streets; chunks of cement lay in piles, broken along the floor, and torn paper being pulled by the stale wind. Desolate, the streets held little hint of life, and the warm scent that flowed with the wind was one of decay.
	The figures walked in the darkness, in silence they continued to hold each other’s hand. The boy stopped as he clutched his stomach.
	“Daijoubu, Sabaki?” The female bent down towards her brother, panicked, as he fell forwards, curling in upon himself.
	“It hurts.” The boy choked out, as tears began to pull at his eyes.
	“Don’t worry Sabaki, we’ll find you something. It’ll be ok.” She began to get up, as the boy pushed on the ground to support himself, still clutching his stomach, he grit his teeth.
	“It hurts, Ane-ue.” His voice quivered as he tried to hold back the tears that stained his cheeks.
	She smiled, helping the boy up, as he stepped forward, still clutching his stomach. “That’s it, Sabaki. I know you can do it.”
	The wind began to die as to boy choked out a cry of pain, silence surrounding them. A small clatter of a falling rock hit the floor, and the girl held the struggling boy close to her, protecting him as she pulled him into her arms.
	“Iie..” She whispered, as the echo slowly faded and was replaced by another. Her eyes widened, and she began to back away. “He didn’t…” Another echo sounded as she looked sharply to her right, searching through the darkness. “Hurry Sabaki! We have to get away!”
	“It hurts though!” The boy stumbled forward as his hands wrenched at his stomach.
	She grabbed the boy quickly as she began to run down the darkened streets, gasping for breath as she glanced behind her, fearing for her brothers safety.  Her heeled shoes pounded desperately on the cracked cement, the faint markings of the street no longer visible.
	The boy began to choke as spasms took over his body. “Hold on Sabaki.” She managed to speak as her lungs burned for more air.
	She turned quickly, heading for a darkened alleyway, and stumbled over the wavered cement. The boy falling from her arms, and hitting the pavement roughly. 
	“Sabaki!” She picked herself up quickly, and ran to her brother’s side. “Hold on Sabaki!” Pulling his head up, she leaned him against her own body, trying to stop the blood from his scratched skin, and placing her jacket over his cooling body.
	“Ane-ue…” His body shook as he cried, and clutched on to his sisters arm. “It hurts so much.” His eyes glistened a deep blue, stained with his tears.
	“Hurry Sabaki… Go…” Her voice had calmed, as she stared towards the entrance of the alleyway.
	“Ane-ue?” Her brother’s eyes looked up at her in disbelief. “IIE! I won’t! I can’t!” The tears streamed down his cheeks, falling into her lap.
	She placed his head down, and pulled a small knife out from her jacket pocket. Flipping the blade open she cut her wrist, and placed it over her brothers mouth, as the blood began to drip down and along his tongue.
	“Onegai…” She whispered silently as her brother struggled.
	“Yamete kudasai. Ane-ue! YAMETE!!” He choked on the blood, trying not to swallow, as it trickled along his chin and over his lips.
	He felt the warmth flow down as throat, and the pain in his stomach began to subside. His body lay still as her blood continued to fill his mouth. His eyes closed, shutting off the tears and the silence returned.
	“Onegai…”She whispered, her body falling limp beside her brother.
	His eyes opened once more as the pain returned, but as a craving. Slowly sitting up, he looked at the form as his sister, and crawled towards her, his hand outstretched, and his eyes in pain.
	“Ane-ue….” His voice choked, and his spine curled in as he grabbed at his stomach. “Yamero! YAMERO!” The boy screamed as the skin along his spin split, and his muscles began to pulse as they grew. “YAMERO!” He screamed as the tears streamed down his face, his skin falling to the floor revealing a red mesh of veins and muscle. Scabs began to form as it made contact with the stale night air, covering his body in a heaving, crusted shell. His spine began to elongate, a thin tail burst from his tailbone, whipping against the floor, and dashing the walls with crimson blood. His jaw jetted out as his nose grew moist and damp and flattened against his growing muzzle, his teeth curving down from the torn flesh. Fur spread along his body, erupting from the earth toned scabs, causing them to fall to the floor as dust.
“Ane-ue…”His eyes pleaded in pain, the deep blue blurred through the continuous flow of tears. “Tasukete…” 
	It crouched over the girl’s limp body, the blood from her wrist pooling along her side, staining her emerald green dress.
	Her eyes barely opened as she smiled, and in the faintest words, whispered, “ Ane-ue… Ane-ue aishiteiru… Sa... ba… ki… -kun…” Her lungs emptied as her eyes closed again and her body fell silent.
	The creature grabbed the limp form and held it against its wiry fur. Its chest heaving as it cried, and inhaled the scent of blood.  “Aishiteiru, Ane-ue.” It placed the body gently back on to the cold cement, and raised its clawed hand, plunging it into the figures limp chest. The bones snapped and the chest burst open, covering the beast’s dark fur in the glimmer of blood.
	A torn howl pierced the silent wind as the beast backed away, sobbing, tears streamed from its stained eyes, as it turned from the carnage, and run as fast as it could from its only love.
