That which is spoken
can often be sung
to enliven, and oft to inspire.
‘Tis a rarity, though,
to hear songs spoken flat,
like a monologue made for a choir.
The music of speech
is pretty to hear;
There’s no doubting the joy it can bring.
But a melody adds
an ethereal tone,
as though angels have joined in to sing.
