Wilderness

Let me run through forests of the night
A lonely wolf; a heart so wild and free
On feet so fast they make my joy take flight
My home the woodlands, where I'll ever be
Beneath the mighty fir, the birch, the pine
A landscape suited well for solitude
And all I see and all I hear are mine
My howl is poetry, bereft of all that's crude
The spirit of the wild forever more
Inhabit me, possess this earthly form
And change me right down to my inner core
To make me feel forever safe and warm
Embrace the wildness surging through your veins
And howl with joy and cast off all your reins!
