"Grand Marshal.", the warrior saluted him.

Sslaxx sighed. I've only been retired a week! What do they want? He returned the salute. "Yes?"

"The Supreme Lord has asked that you meet with him, as soon as is convenient for you."

Sslaxx bit back the comment he was going to make. "Very good. Inform the Supreme Lord I shall meet him whenever he wishes.", he told the warrior.

"Grand Marshal.", the warrior confirmed, leaving.

Sslaxx grumbled once the warrior had left. All he wanted to do was spend time with his family. He had missed Savaxx's first birthday due to damnable meetings. He wanted nothing to do with the political spectrum any more. But still, he had to honour the Supreme Lord's request to meet him. Probably something to do with the increasingly dangerous political situation in the former Humol Dalek Empire. What was left of it was still friendly. The breakaway part, the Republic, appeared to be led by a mad Dalek who called himself the Supreme. Ah, well, whatever it is, I'll find out soon enough.

At least I don't have anything planned for the near future. When will the Supreme Lord request my presence? He sighed.

He summoned his adjutant - retired though he was, he still had a small ensemble of warriors assigned to him. "Mevar, I have been asked to meet the Supreme Lord. Ensure only the most urgent demands on my time are to be entertained.", he hissed.

Mevar nodded. "Of course, Grand Marshal. I'll keep your schedule as free as I can, although it is rather free right now."

Sslaxx chuckled a little. "And a good thing too. Very good, Mevar."

Axxel glared at the reports. The endless border skirmishes between the Empire and the Republic were starting to affect Nova Martia. He couldn't do much without possibly antagonising both Dalek factions. The Republic had made it known they would not tolerate any attempts to intervene in the current situation. Alpha's War Cabinet had also warned various others that the Republic's terror campaigns could and likely would be extended in the coming years.

The other members of the Table had made it clear they wanted some kind of non-political, non-military involvement with the situation, primarily to ease nerves on Nova Martia, where the Parliament was based. The Supreme Lord knew he was going to have to go to Nova Martia to discuss events, and could expect a fraught meeting ahead.

Getting someone prominent involved in a non-political manner had been suggested as a possible way of helping the solution, one that he'd been willing to go along with. He could only hope the Grand Marshal involved would agree.

Cassandra sighed. The reports of Dalek battles close to Nova Martia's boundaries were unsettling. There had been two suspected terror attacks by the Republic, too.
