True Meaning of Love Part 2

Dinner and a Dance

Orao Picked up the phone and called one of his friends that owned one of the most successful and exclusive restaurants in the city. Orao new Ray would help him and needed to make a good impression on Lamika.

"The Shay Purr, how can I help you?" a female voice answered.

"This is Orao Relson I need to speak to Raymond Ebson," Orao said.

"Hold please," the voice said.

Only a few moments later a voice hit his ears.

"Orao my old friend I want to thank you for the stock tips you gave me I've made half a million in dividends, Now how are you doing?" Ray said happily.

"I'm good Ray but I need a big favor," He said.

"Just ask and it’s yours," Ray replied.

"Well you see I met this wonderful woman today and I wanted to take her to a special place tonight so I was hoping," Orao was interrupted.

"That I could bump you past the two months of reservations and get you a table tonight right," Ray laughed.

"Well I won't have any tables open but I'll tell you what I'll have my staff set up my private booth and put my best cook at your disposal," Ray said.

"That’s great Ray this means a lot to me and I owe you huge for this!" Orao exclaimed.

"Think nothing of it, its the least I can do for an old buddy, unfortunately I have to go so have a great time and call me with the details," Ray said.

Orao started calling everyone from florists to stylists in preparation. Lamika went to her salon and got a complete make over and manicure. Then she went to her apartment and began going through her wardrobe looking for what to wear. She called a friend and they finally got her dressed in a long black silk gown and a beautiful collar with a gold rose on the front that sat over her beautiful throat. Lamika put on her favorite perfume and saw it was quarter past six. I’ll show up early she thought to herself, as she got ready

"Good luck," her friend said as Lamika left.

Lamika walked into the cafe half an hour early so she could relax a little before Orao arrived. She was pleasantly surprised when she saw Orao already sitting at the table were they had first kissed. He looked amazing in a slick black suit with a neatly folded red handkerchief in his jacket pocket. He was starring at a liquor glass on the table and hadn’t seen her yet. He was obviously nervous and she figured that put them on a level playing field, as she was already a bit jittery. Lamika startled Orao when she placed her paw on his neck from behind. His head jerked around as his nose tapped her in the stomach making her giggle.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to do that," he said as he stumbled to his feet.

Lamika smiled and sat down next to Orao. She picked up the glass and sniffed it. She then swallowed the last bit of brandy in the glass.

"I needed that," she said.

"I made reservations at Shay Purr for us," Orao said his voice almost a whisper.

Orao picked up a large bouquet of white roses from his side and gave them to Lamika.

"They're wonderful!" she said as she laid her paw on his.

"So tell me," she said curiously, "How did you manage to get a table at Shay Purr?"

Orao was prepared for that, "A beauty like yours could inspire any man to move mountains and part seas all I did was manage to make a dinner reservation."

Lamika purred, "I can accept that."

Orao and Lamika stood up and Lamika put his arm over her shoulder and leaned her head against him as they walked out.

"I hope I don't seem to aggressive but its not everyday I am swept off my feet," she said.

“I’m the lucky one you’re magnificent and I love your perfume,” Orao quickly complimented.

Lamika just smiled and purred as she tried to relax in the hopes he would do the same. Orao called a cab and they soon arrived at Shay Purr. Upon seeing him the hostess immediately went over and welcomed them.

"Welcome to Shay Purr Mr. Relson, The Presidential dinning hall has been prepared for your arrival, Mr. Ebson Told me to let you know that his personal wine selection is at your disposal and that if you need anything I am to serve you to my best ability, My name is Jesse," The hostess said.

Lamika just stood there speechless; she couldn't believe how much he had done or how special he tried to make this evening. The hostess led them through the restaurant into a room in the back. The dinning booth was huge and had a table that could comfortably sit a dozen people. Orao had dinned in this room before with his friend and he new quite a bit about its interesting extras. Orao first sat Lamika at the table and then went to a panel on the wall. The lights dimmed and a metal shutter opened revealing a two-way mirror that Lamika could look out. She could see people sitting and eating, as waiters raced around making sure everything was taken care of. A tear ran down Lamikas cheek and she sniffled as she looked at him.

"Is something wrong," he asked curiously.

Lamika got up and walked over to him hugging him tightly. She looked up and smiled into his gaze

"Nothings wrong this is just perfect," Lamika said.

Orao and Lamika sat back down and ordered their meals. The food was excellent and they drank the finest wine either had ever had. They talked for hours and listened to the music in the entertainment system. Orao asked Lamika to dance and she quickly accepted wanting to be in his arms. They slow danced for an hour Lamikas head on his shoulder her arms wrapped around him feeling his trim body underneath his suit. Orao was in bliss feeling her warmth against him his arms on her back and her breath on his neck. It was the single most wonderful moment he could remember in his life. It was almost midnight when they stopped dancing and Orao asked Jesse to call a cab for them.

"I hope you enjoyed yourself Lamika," Orao said.

"This was the best date I have ever had, I hope I was worth it," she replied.

"You were worth every minute of planning I did for this and hope you would like to do it again," he said purring.

“I would love to do this again,” she said before kissing him again.

They walked out to the cab and Orao walked her to her apartment door. Lamika kissed him one last time and he walked back down the stairs. Lamika wanted to invite him in but didn't want to seem to forward after all they had just met that morning. She closed her door with a smile on her face and went to bed thinking of him. Orao walked home skipping the mile too his studio and went to bed thinking of Lamika and her beautiful eyes. He couldn’t wait to see her again and he figured calling her in the morning would be good.
