¥ Alright, so what are these 'Bogan' things? They look like fox anthros with digigrade legs instead of plantigrade and with hooves and a non-floofy tail. So what makes THEM so special? Hm.. Well, they weren't MEANT to look like foxes. If I had meant for the Bogans to look like Foxes, I would've added the spiffy-keen tail that's so nice and floofy. But alas, it was not to be. Areola, my first Bogan, was really just an exercise in drawings furries. I needed three pictures for sample pieces of artwork to be accepted into VCL, so I sat down on my bed as I usually do and started drawing, making damned sure to NOT draw humans, as I am wont to doing. Bleh, bad Xella, no nana.. but I digress. Intially, the Bogan female I would call 'Areola' later (due to an anal retentive need to name ALL my characters, whether I use 'em or not) was meant to be an anthropomorphic version of a previous species of ancient, intelligent felinoid inhabitants of Quinnealisis called Siol (pronounced See All). However, as the female began to take shape, I realized the ears were floppier and more rabbit-ish, the shape of the head was more spherical than the football shape of the Siol, and the muzzle was too short (not to mention the eyes were of a completely different class). I really didn't feel like erasing, not only due to my extreme laziness, but I was fond of the drawing that had partially emerged, and I had no eraser left anyway. So I continued drawing, adding the long tail customary of the Siol, and digigrade horse hooves (Or, as I like to inaccurately call them, "GoatFeet"). While I was shading, I decided to give the new species darker handpaws and ears, and a lighter muzzle. ¥ So why the hell do you call 'em Bogans when there's only two? What prompted me to call the species 'Bogans' was nothing more than a lack of creativity on my part when I was naming them. (One of) My (many) human character(s), Bogan Hellfyre, refused to shut up in my head, and was yapping away while trying to come up with a name. Silly me took his name and made it a species as well. Ayden, who can be seen on my main VCL index page, was an attempt to create a picture of a Bogan that didn't just 'happen' and was planned. He didn't, however, come out as a Bogan, and so Meredith was the first purposefully created Bogan. I just haven't gotten around to doing any more at this point in time, but gimme a break- they've been around for less than a week. ¥ What's that weird thing underneath Meredith's name on her watercolor picture? That, my friend, is the Bogan name in Quinnealisisicilan. Ancient Quinnealisisicilian, to be precice, because the Bogan race used to live in Quinnealisis, long before the Quinnealisisicilians did, anyway. It was designed, as you may or may not be able to tell, by the defining eye shape of the Bogan species- their eyes are always half closed, in a triangle-shape, with an eyelash coming off. Although no males of the species have been depicted as of yet, the male's 'lash' is considerable shorter, however it IS still present. ¥ So who created the Bogans, then? That would be me, Alicia 'Xellandria' Kilpatrick. Henceforth, the Bogan species, the Bogan rune, an' all the other crap I've mentioned in this text file is © me, Alicia 'Xellandria' Kilpatrick. I've got no problems with you creating your own character for fun, but if you plan to use him/her/it to make a profit.. well, that's where I draw the line. Talk to me about that, and we can discuss.
