ONZA'S FAQ Please e-mail me at OnzaQueen@aol.com. Please. I like to get mail. If you mention me in your LiveJournal or something, please note that my name is NOT OnzaQueen. That is my e-mail address only. My artist name is JUST Onza. Art thieves beware... I possess the hand-drawn originals of all my drawings! You won't stand a chance in court! Q: Are you male or female? A: Look at the name I use to sign my drawings with. Q: Where are you from? A: Near Washington DC. Q: Do you have a furcode? A: Yes, here it is: FFJ4adw/DS6as A+ C- D- H-- M-- P R++ T+++ W- Sf-- RLA/RB a c--- e++ f+ h? p sf# Decode it here: http://www.vulpine.pp.se/cgi-bin/furcode?D Q: Are you availabe? A: No, I don't do that over the internet. Q: What art techniques/media do you use? A: Almost all of my pictures are drawn and colored by hand. I feel there is a certain integrity to it that way. I use ink and colored pencils. I don't use any fancy schmancy professional supplies, just lame office supplies, like Sharpies and printer paper. I also use white-out. I recently obtained Photoshop (I am poor) and I am now using that to tweek my drawings because I am a sell-out. Q: Would you draw my character? A: Sure, if I think your character is cool. But I can't make any guarantees because I am often busy with school. Q: Will you draw porn? A: No. I am not against 'furotica,' but I have decided to keep my own artwork (relatively) clean. As with drawing pictures by hand, I feel it preserves integrity. Q: What's with those jaguar characters? A: I wrote this fantastic story in middle school (no, you won't get to see it) in which the character Onza made her first appearance. The characters were non-morphic, but I now often draw her anthropomorphically as a fandom fursona. The other jaguars (Olmec, Cuzco, Tizoc) were other characters in the same story. Q: What the hell is "Misfit Cats"? A: Yeah it's lame. But I noticed that a lot of artists on VCL have recurring characters with names, so I decided that I wanted to do that, too. Rosemary and Nietzsche were two characters that I created a while ago, originally as Neko-jin, hence their more humanlike appearance. Jeremi was added later, after I drew the goth cat in Good Stuff. There may still be more characters to come. These characters live in a furry world separate from my other drawings; the "Misfit Cats" folder designates their world. Q: What the hell is cryptozoology? A: Look it up on the internet. Cryptozoology is the study of/search for unknown animals, especially ones that are large or unusual, such as Bigfoot or sea serpents. Q: What the hell is F-M? A: F-M refers to furry-muscle.org, a website owned by an online friend of mine, Zak. There various artists put up drawings of especially buff furries. Everything from my folder is on that site, and more. Q: I'm an idiot. Can you explain the different folders? A: Yeah dumbass, here you go: GOOD STUFF: The "main" artwork, which I want people to see the most. Old Stuff: Out-dated art, which was good when I first joined VCL. Off-Beat: Stuff that is suggestive, morbid, or otherwise not right. Misfit Cats: Named characters and a few cameos. Magical Beasts: Non-anthropomorphic imaginary creatures. For Others: Gift arts, trades, and commissions. Miscellany: Self-explanitory Cryptozoology: Various cryptids, tweeked on Photoshop. Q: What's up with that political crap? A: I feel I have the right to express my feelings and views artistically. I have recently decided, though, that when I do a politically-oriented drawing, it will be put in Misfit Cats. Nietzsche is a good spokescat. Some people think stupid things like, if you don't like the president then you're anti-American, or if you're opposed to the war then you're opposed to freedom. Those people can kiss my ass. If the drawings offend you, then don't look at them. Q: If we do an art trade, how can I draw your characters? A: I noticed that a lot of artists have character sheets set up specifically for this purpose, providing details such as the color of the inside of the ears. I have personally elected not to do that because my characters evolve over time. Moreover, if you draw my charcters (with the possible exception of Maku) I don't want you to draw them the way I draw them; I want you to draw them the way *you* conceive them. Use the actual images that I posted as guide sheets. Also, use this list: Onza: My fursona as a black jaguar can be drawn anthropomorphic or non-morphic. This character originated in an ancient, tropical rain forest world. She cannot be mixed with Misfit Cats characters. Maku the Madrabbit: A recent addition, he is the subject of a possibly future comic book submission for Furrlough. For that reason, I am a bit more protective of him than of my other named characters. I will not allow as much variability in his design than I would for other characters. See the illustration(s) in Miscellany. He looks like Sideshow Bob as a rabbit and he wears clothing from his ancient civilization, which is fictitious but set in Mesoamerica. He is NOT supposed to be cute. He may not be mixed with Misfit Cats characters, either. Nietzsche: Misfit Cats character: black and white catguy with a goatee. Presumably a college student. He's meant to be thin and lanky, skinnier than how I usually end up drawing him. He's mostly white, but with a black tail tip and black on the right side of his face, including his ear. His hair is black, but with white bangs on the side where his face is black. (See pictures.) He may have black body markings that are usually covered up. Though I usually give him black pants and a weird cammo design shirt, he can be wearing anything, as long as it fits with his weird retro-90's hard rock iconoclastic left-wing character. And he totally is. Rosemary: Another Misfit Cats character. She's Nietzsche's peer and best friend. She's pale (whitish or light lavender) with purple highlights and a bushy purple tail. It might or might not be the natural color. She is significantly shorter than Nietzsche. She has short punk hair. Her wardrobe is punk-goth metalhead style. She is NOT the type of goth who pretends to be a vampire or a devil worshipper. Nor would she wear a dress. Jeremi: He frequents the Misfit Cats world and beyond. He's a small, beautiful effeminate cat. He's meant to be very thin, thinner than how I usually draw him, and thinner than Nietzsche. I so far have drawn him with Sylvan, but he has many lovers and they are not always male. His fur color is pale like a dirty snowball and he has stripes. The inside of his ears are purple. His hair changes color frequently. I always draw him wearing a different outfit, but it's always something wacky and kind of kinky. He likes to wear women's clothing. He is the most likely to be found in a dirty situation. Sylvan: One of Jeremi's favorite lovers, he is not in the Misfit Cats world because he is a lynx and not a housecat. He's a good choice for artists who like muscular Furries. He does not have humanlike hair, that would be dumb. He was originally intended for dirty purposes. Draw as dirty as you wish. All of the characters listed above belong to me. Draw them with my permission. E-mail me.
